Parmount's first run of DVDs (like Face/Off) were notorious for having next to no extras. Like many studios, they're making up for lost time by making their new DVDs give the buyer more bang for the buck. However, even though there are a number of extras on the disc, most of them fall flat. I particularly got annoyed with the featurettes which focused on Tom Cruise being the world's greatest stuntman (*cough*). Even Woo's commentary (which runs silent at times for several minutes) falls into this trap. Plus there's not even a trailer, which ticks me off since I really dug them in the theatre. The Metallica video and MTV parody are pretty cool, though -- and as you would expect from a new US DVD of a major movie, the picture and sound quality are excellent. Nitpicks aside, this disc makes a good buy for fans of the movie.
